Houston Advanced Research Center Motions to Single-Stream Composting

It is with much enthusiasm I announce that the Houston Advanced Research Center will start diverting their food waste and compostables from the landfill. In an attempt to continue to strive for the principles they stand for, this is a great move on their side to support a local business that is trying to make a positive change for the community and the environment.

For those of you who do not know about HARC; HARC, a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated as Houston Advanced Research Center, is a research hub providing independent analysis on energy, air, and water issues to people seeking scientific answers. We are focused on building a sustainable future that helps people thrive and nature flourish (harcresearch.org). The HARC building located on The Woodlands is the first of its kind in The Woodlands and Montgomery County. That is, because it has been awarded a prestigious LEED Platinum Certification! The Platinum certification is the highest environmental building achievement attainable by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). It’s key sustainable elements are primarily Energy Efficiency, Water Stewardship, and Materials Reduction among many other genius ideas their board of members have. Truthfully, it’s a jaw dropping experience just visiting the building. #zerowaste #zerowasteliving #zerowastelife #zerowastejourney #zerowastevegan #zerowastegoals #leedbuilding #usgbc #thewoodlandsartscouncil #thewoodlandswaterwayartsfestival #thewoodlands #thewoodlandstx #zerowastethewoodlands #lowwaste #lowwasteliving #lowwastelifestyle #compost #composting #foodwaste #nofoodwaste #zerofoodwaste #foodwastepickup #curbsidepickup #noplastic #zeroplastic #nopollution #selfsufficient #energyefficient
